Female draft volunteer share drops after expansion
The new 11-month conscription has launched, but the proportion of women voluntarily applying dropped to approximately 15 percent for the second half of 2026, marking a 15-year low. In 2024, women made up 23.6 percent of participants under the previous four-month model.
